Microporous filter membrane, also known as microporous filtration, belongs to precision filtration, which intercepts particles such as gravel, sludge, clay, as well as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, algae, and some bacteria in the solution. A large amount of solvents, small molecules, and a small amount of macromolecular solutes can all pass through the membrane during the separation process.
The basic principle of microporous membrane is the screening process, with an operating pressure generally between 0.7-7kPa. The raw material liquid passes through a filtering material under the action of static pressure difference. Filter materials can be divided into various types, such as folding filter cartridges, melt blown filter cartridges, bag filters, microfiltration membranes, etc. Microporous filter membranes made of cellulose or polymer materials are used to trap particles, bacteria, etc. in water using their uniform pore size, preventing them from passing through the filter membrane and being removed.
The separation efficiency of a membrane is determined by its physical structure, pore shape, and size.
There are currently over ten specifications for microporous membranes, with pore sizes ranging from 0.1 to 75 μ m and membrane thicknesses of 120 to 150 µ m.
